2024 International Conference on the cooperation and Integration of Industry,Education,Research and Application Digital Intelligence,Digital Intelligence Technology and Frontier Science Sub-forum was held on November 30 at Dishui Lake International Software Engineering Institute.The forum jointly hosted by School Planning and Construction Development Center of the Ministry of Education and Shanghai Municipal Commission of Education, organized by East China Normal University. With the theme of ‘Trustworthy Industrial Software', the guests from home and abroad exchanged industrial development trends and technological innovation, and explored the innovation of industry-education-research and application models in the field of trustworthy industrial software.
Liu Li, Deputy Director of Shanghai Municipal Education Commission, Meng Zhongjie, Deputy director of the Council of East China Normal University addressed the conference. Chih-Hao Luke Ong, Vice President of Nanyang Technological University in Singapore, Josep Domingo Ferrer, Academician of the European Academy of Sciences and Professor of the University of Rovira Ivirkiri in Spain, Patrice Quinton, the first president of Ecole Normale Superieure in Rennes, France, Professor Miroslav Popovic from the University of Novi Sad, Serbia, as well as experts and scholars from all over the world, corporate guests, representatives of teachers and students attended the event.KUAI Shuguang,Director of the International Cooperation and Exchange Department of East China Normal University chaired the opening ceremony.
In the opening address, MENG Zhongjie pointed out that the establishment of Lin-gang Special Area was an important measure in further opening up China. East China Normal University has been actively planning a new campus in Lin-gang SpecialArea,moving education and research activities to the front line of the urgent needed industries and exploring new Integration modes of education and industry as a response. He further noted that the sub-forum was held at the Dishui Lake International Software Engineering Institute with the aim of having the college, as a pioneer, raise the flag of industry-education-research cooperation in Lin-gang Special Area, and contribute to the promotion of technological innovation and service to the economic and social development.
Liu Li, deputy director of the Shanghai Municipal Education Commission, said in his speech that the Lin-gang Special Area is the core area of Shanghai's pilot project for building a national city integrating industry and education. East China Normal University takes the initiative to connect with and serve the industrial needs of the Lin-gang New Area, lays out related disciplines, fully demonstrates the determination and strength of East China Normal University in exploring the integration of industry and education and promoting a new round of higher education reform. He emphasized that as the key support of intelligent manufacturing, the credibility and security of industrial software have become an important factor in promoting the high-quality development of the industry, and hoped that experts and scholars at home and abroad can fully exchange the innovation of industry-education-research models in the field of trustworthy industrial software through this forum, share excellent experience, and seek common development.
At the opening ceremony, Liu Li and Meng Zhongjie jointly unveiled the National University Science and Technology Park (Lin-gang Park) of East China Normal University. The National University Science and Technology Park of East China Normal University is an important carrier for the transformation of scientific and technological achievements, the Lin-gang Park will be supported by Dishui Lake International Software Engineering Institute, relying on information disciplines, to build a professional incubator in line with the characteristics of information industry, and provide teachers and students with services such as innovation and entrepreneurship, transformation of scientific and technological achievements.
In order to explore a new model of integration of industry and education, Dishui Lake International Software Institute and cooperative enterprises released the first batch of industry-education integration projects, including the project 'Civil Aircraft Software Runtime Environment Standardization Technology to Meet Airworthiness Requirements' in cooperation with COMAC, and the topic ‘Intelligent Algorithm and Trustworthy Authentication Technology for Complex and Dynamic Environment' released by Thundersoft Aqua Drive Technology Co., Ltd. The two sides will jointly carry out joint research and talent training around related issues.
In order to complete the project content with higher quality, the college hired experts from 12 units, including Empyrean and Longsys, as corporate mentors. Fu Zhangjie, Deputy Director of the High-tech Division of the Management Committee of Lin-gang Special Area, Wang Hua, Deputy Director of the Science and Technology Department of East China Normal University, issued letters of appointment to the representatives of enterprise mentors.
To help conference participants gain a deeper understanding of the Lin-gang Special Area, Wang Jian, general manager of the Harbor City Group's Investment Promotion Service Center, introduced the development goals, five cutting-edge industrial systems, and the AI-focused ecosystem of the Lin-gang Special Area. He pointed out that Lin-gang provides comprehensive support for the relocation, housing, education, and medical needs of talents, and looks forward to more young people choosing Lin-gang and falling in love with it.
After the opening ceremony, Professor Chih-Hao Luke Ong, Vice President of Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, Chief Scientist of ‘AI Singapore', Professor Josep Domingo-Ferrer, Academician of the European Academy of Sciences, IEEE Fellow, ACM Distinguished Scientist, University of Rovira Ivirkiri, Spain, Professor Patrice Quinton, former President of Ecole Normale Supérieure de Rennes, France, and Miroslav, University of Saad, Norway, Serbia Professor Popovic delivered keynote speeches on behalf of experts and scholars. With the application of reinforcement learning in complex systems and the phenomenon of digital forgetting in large language models, this paper introduces the transformation of scientific research achievements, shares the experience of integration of industry and education, and puts forward suggestions for industry-education-research cooperation based on the relationship between academic research, higher education and enterprise market. The keynote speech session was chaired by Zhang Min, vice president of SEI,ECNU.
In the afternoon, the ‘Critical Technologies for Industrial Software’, Industrial Software Frontiers,' and 'AI Special Project Pitch' three parallel forums were held.
At the sub-forum on ‘Key Technologies of Industrial Software’,Professor Cao Zhenfu from SEI, ECNU delved into transformative research in cryptography theory; Professor Peng Xin, the deputy dean of the School of Computer Science and Technology of Fudan University, emphasized the necessity of further promoting the intelligent development of software from the perspectives of conceptual analysis and design; Wang Bin, vice president of Hikvision, focused on data security protection in smart IoT, discussing the importance of smart IoT terminals in smart cities and factories, as well as the challenges they face; Chief Expert and Senior Engineer Zhang Wenzheng from China Electronics Technology Group Corporation, researcher Zhang Lijun from the Institute of Software, Chinese Academy of Sciences, tenured associate professor He Fei from Tsinghua University, professor Zhao Yongwang from Zhejiang University, and professor Yang Zijiang from the School of Computer Science at the University of Science and Technology of China shared applications and developments of trustworthy industrial software in areas such as group cryptographic algorithms, key software and hardware security certification, and autonomous driving.
In the sub-forum of ‘Frontier of Industrial Software Industry’, Chang Liang, researcher and doctoral supervisor of Innovation Academy for Microsatellite of Chinese Academy of Sciences, introduced the application scenarios and practices of artificial intelligence in the aerospace field such as satellite remote sensing, in-orbit control, and human-computer interaction, and explored and thought about how to apply more artificial intelligence technologies to aerospace system engineering in the future. Cao Guangyu, executive general manager and senior engineer of Shanghai Zhida Technology Development Co., Ltd., put forward the need for industry-education-research cooperation in autonomous navigation, intelligent management, remote monitoring and fault diagnosis of charging robots. Han Xiaodong, Clinical Research Director and Chief Scientist of General Electric (GE) Medical Ultrasound Division, Zhang Fan, Director of BIM Research Institute of China Construction Eighth Engineering Research Institute, Wu Lei, R&D Director of Practek (Beijing) Co., Ltd., Cheng Xin, Associate Researcher of Shanghai Fire Research Institute of the Ministry of Emergency Management, and Dong Mingfu, Senior Engineer of KOAL Software Co., Ltd., respectively shared the research progress of the integration of industry, education, research and application of industrial software in cutting-edge fields such as medicine, construction, and energy.
The ‘Huachuang Future' Artificial Intelligence Special Project Roadshow was hosted by the Industrial Technology Research Institute of East China Normal University. Xing Hexiang, Executive Dean of the Industrial Technology Research Institute of Shanghai Lin-gang ECNU and Dean of the Institute of Advanced Technology of Shanghai Lin-gang ECNU, delivered a welcome speech for the event. Six artificial intelligence innovation and entrepreneurship projects from East China Normal University were showcased, and in-depth exchanges were conducted with on-site judges and investors.
Founded by the Ministry of Education in 2018, the International Conference on Industry-Education-Research-Application Cooperation carries the important mission of promoting the deep integration of global industry, academia, research and application, and accelerating scientific and technological innovation and industrial upgrading. The purpose of hosting this conference is to listen to the rich experience and wisdom of experts, improve the level of industry-education-research-application work of ECNU with the help of this cross-field and cross-border exchange platform.
