From December 22nd to December 23rd, 2016, the 2016 Seminar on Cryptograhy Theory hosted by the Department of Cryptography and Network Security was successfully held at ECNU. Prof. Daqing Wan and Prof. Yi Mu, who were well-knowned mathematicians, also experts in the field of computational theory and cryptography, were invited to give keynote speeches.
The seminar was chaired by Prof. Cao, Director of the Department of Cryptography and Network Security.
Prof. Daqing Wan worked in the Department of Mathematics, Irvine, University of California, USA. Not only does he have a profound knowledge in mathematics, but also has achived greatly in the areas of computing and cryptography. He has published many academic papers in top international conferences and journals including FOCS, STOC, IEEE Transactions on Information Theory.
In recent years, Prof. Daqing Wan focused on an important research topic in the field of computational theory, coding and cryptography. In this seminar, Professor Wan made a report entitled “Algebraic subset sums over finite fields”.
Prof. Mu Yi is an internationally renowned expert of information security. He has served as the chairman or committee member of the ACM CCS, ESORICS, ACISP, AisaCCS and other international conference.
Prof. Mu gave a report named "Strongly Leakage-Resilient Authenticated Key Exchange" at this seminar. After reviewing the security model of the anti-leakage authentication key exchange protocol, he proposed an efficient anti-leakage based on smooth projective hash functions.
Associate Professor Chengju Li from the Department of Cryptography and Network Security, gave a report entitled "Complete weight enumerators of some linear codes", introducing the latest research on the complete weight distribution of linear block codes between him and his collaborators.
