Research team led by Professor Xingmian Sha from the School of Computer Science and Software Engineering of the University, obtained the right to host ESWEEK 2020. It will be the first  ESWEEK held in China.

During the ESWEEK 2018, which was held in Italy in October 2018, after fierce debating, the committee decided that ESWEEK would be held in Shanghai in October 2020. ESWEEK includes three top-level embedded international academic conferences (IEEE/ACM CASES, EMSOFT, CODES-ISSS) and several workshops, Symposia, and Tutorials. Participants are usually researchers and scholars from academic and research institutions, and the industries related to the field of embedded systems and software, Internet of Things, intelligent systems, real-time systems, etc. Due to the high international reputation of ESWEEK conferences, all regular articles received by the three main conferences will be scheduled to be published in IEEE TCAD (CCF Class A) journals.

The number of papers received and published has exceeded 2,500, and citations has been up to 2,500 since the first ESWEEK conference was held in 1994. It became an annual event in the field of embedded systems and software, and is one of the top academic conferences in the field of embedded systems, with three main conferences (CASES, CODES + ISSS, EMSOFT), one IoT theme day, two symposia (RSP, NOCS), and several seminars. It brought several seminars and reports together to present a wide range of topics to the participants, showing the technological frontiers of embedded system design and hardware/software architecture.
