报告摘要:
Cohesive subgraph computation has been widely used to analyze real-life networks from different perspectives. Recent studies focus on cohesive subgraph computation to handle big graphs in many real-life applications such as community detection, network analysis, network visualization, internet topology analysis and protein function prediction. In this talk, I will first highlight the importance of cohesive subgraph computation in a variety of applications and the unique challenges that need to be addressed. Subsequently, I will provide an overview of my recent studies on the computation algorithms under different computing environments. Then I will discuss my researches on the integration of existing models with other approaches to better capture the cohesiveness of subgraphs in real-life scenarios. Finally, I will discuss the future research directions in this important and growing research area.
报告人简介:
Dr. Lu Qin received his PhD at the Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2010. He is now a senior lecturer in the center of Artificial Intelligence at University of Technology Sydney. His main research interest focuses on big graph analytics and processing, which has been a very hot research topic in the big data era. His dedication to research has resulted in two books and 90+ conference/journal papers, all of which are ranked ERA A*/A. These include 12 SIGMOD papers, 15 VLDB papers, and 22 ICDE papers in the top three database conferences. He received the Best Student Paper Award in ICDE 2007 and the Best Paper Award in ICDE 2016. He has supervised/co-supervised 16 PhD students. He has got ARC Discovery Early Career Researcher Award (DECRA) in 2014 and a leading CI ARC Discovery Project (DP) Funding in 2016 from Australia Government.
